So...

I'm going through CSI withdrawal.

You see, usually I watch the reruns on SpikeTV, right? And I've been practically watching all of the episodes they air at 7, 8, and sometimes 9 PM because all of my usual programs [NCIS, Lost, Close to Home, NUMB3RS, etc.] are all on the holiday hiatus. These last fews weeks has pretty much been all CSI which is great because now I've probably seen over half of the series.

Well, unfortunately, TPTB at this particular station thought it wise to host 'the 008 days of 007'...or whatever they're calling it. And really, I like Bond movies as much as the average Jane but with commericals? Come on, man, don't they know movies suck on regular TV? Not to mention, James Bond marathon vs. CSI? No contest! So yeah....I said to my dad at like 4 PM on Monday that I was already having withdrawal just by knowing it's not going to be on. +whimper+

My only highlight of this week will be the fact that since I wasn't a complete CSI Junkie at the beginning of this season I was watching Night Stalker instead, which means that 'Shooting Stars' will be new to me tonight. Of course, I liked NS but they've cancelled it, which also sucks. But really, what was ABC thinking, putting it at the same time as CSI? +le sigh+

What's really interesting is my favourite pairing for CSI. )

~

So, since I'm not going anywhere for New Years I have some catching up to do, both online and with various TV Shows. I have 3-4 episodes of Supernatural to watch because my dad DVR'd them and I said I would. The last episode of Atlantis I watched was 'The Hive' although I have the rest, at least I think I do...SGA Title Spoiler ) hasn't come on yet, has it? But anyways, I need to watch that and also, I need to start transferring stuff off the DVR before Monday because everything is restarting again and we will be recording up to eleven hours a week, if not more. Six of those hours will be on Friday, thank the gods that SciFi Friday plays twice, I'll be recording it the later cycle.

And with LJ I plan on going through y'alls LJs at least one page...it depends, I mean if someone's LJ only has ten entries per page then I'll go through another one, you know? I may or may not comment on older entries...I usually don't but who knows? +shrugs+ Then of course I have all of my Comms to go through and all of the fanfic I've missed...thank gods for [info]sga_newsletter, I'll be able to find most of the SGA related stuff I've missed there.

If I've missed anyone's birthdays then I want to make a blanket statement and wish a belated birthday! I'm pretty sure I caught everyone who wished me one [at least on Dec. 5, if you wished me a belated one I probably missed it...] but if not, knock me aside the head, okay? +grins+

I'd wish everyone a Happy Holidays but frankly mine have pretty much sucked so....bah, humbug! +snerk+

Out of all the time I've watched Battlestar Galactica I only got one plotbunny out of it. And it's a plotbunny that slightly [one plot point, really] based on something that will happen in tonight's episode, which is why I'm going to talk about it under a lj-cut. That way I can keep track of the fact that, yes, I did think that up before I knew about what's happening tonight. I thought it up before the second season even started actually. +grins+

I was watching SGA's The Intruder for a second time whilst eating breakfast with my mom, who was reading a newspaper. Of course my mom wasn't just reading the paper, she was also watching Atlantis out of the corner of her eye. I asked her how she liked it and she said that it was okay because Rodney was completely different then when she last watched. She said earlier that she stopped watching it because Rodney was 'an asshole' and Elizabeth was 'weak'. Which considering she didn't watch all of Season 1, I could possible see where she was getting that from but that's because she didn't see the characters evolve.

Anyways, the whole reason I'm even posting this? She called early S1 Rodney a flamboyantly gay nitpicker.

It's dreary right now. I love dreary. +happy sigh+

It's also lightning and thunder, so I really need to get off now. I was going to talk about watching RotS last night but I don't want my computer to fry. +nods+

But so this isn't a completely useless post, I will speed type talk about one very, very cool trailer we got. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! Oh gods, I had chills go down my arms watching that and tears in my eyes. Which is weird, because I've already seen it, at Apple - Trailers. The power of watching it in the theatre, I guess. I just really, really hope this one does well so they can do the others. Which will totally work out well because the kids don't have to be the same.

For those the haven't read the books, whenever one [or more] of the kids gets to a certain age they stop going to Narnia. Of course then one [again, or more] of the kids that are still young enough to go bring along another relative or I think at least once someone who was just a friend. It's been a while since I've read them, I need to do that again. Such a hardship. +laughs+

I just cannot wait until it comes out man...and it will be four days after my birthday! Which considering the fact that my parents and I go out to see a movie and and dinner on the weekend after or on one's birthday guess what we are going to go see? Yeah, baby, yeah! +grins+

I need to save the Narnia trailer and make some screencaps to make icons...must have Narnia Icons! So, anyone know of a place where I can DL the trailer? Or even better, get already done screencaps? +smiles+

Okay, I really have to go now, thunder is a lovely sound, one that should be listened to in bed and not sitting at the computer. ^_^

~

So, I was watching the Siege Pt. 2 on my computer earlier because while I do have it recorded on DVR for some reason or another the last few seconds were cut off. Actually, if I remember correctly, it cut off and then started recording again for BSG, and almost the rest of the episode is with that...except I deleted the BSG episodes from the DVR. So bye-bye Woobie!Rodney. +lol+ I didn't even want to watch the whole episode, I pretty much wanted to see the last few minutes, right? So when I jumped the .avi file it went to the scene where Zelenka is walking the nuclear bombs with Ford & Co. to the Jumper Bay. And I noticed something...+grins+

Zelenka[/David Nykl*] is left-handed!

My evidence? Well when he's walking with the others he has a 9mm Gun strapped to his left thigh. PICTURE With a lovely red circle. +lol+

It wouldn't make much sense if he was right-handed to have the gun on the left thigh, so thus, my guess is that he is left-handed! +grins+ The only reason this means so much to me is because I, myself, am left-handed. So really, if you are thinking I'm weird right now, that's okay. +lol+

*Heh, I didn't even have to look to spell his name right. +is such a geek+

~

Also, one more observation, one which I'm sure has been talked about before but I probably missed it. At the end Rodney says to Weir: "You let Sheppard fly that jumper?"

So my question is...has he ever said Sheppard before? And I just missed it, I mean. Which is entirely possible, so if he has and one of y'all noticed and/or remembered it, I wouldn't mind knowing. Because while going through 20 episodes isn't really a hardship, it is time-consuming. I plan on going through all of them sometime this summer [before July 15, hopefully] so that I can write down some things and maybe do character sketches [for myself, at least, but if someone else is interested I'm willing to post them] of the main cast [McKay, Shep, Weir, Teyla, Ford, Beckett, and Zelenka, I'm thinking].

~

Anyways, well I think that's about it. I'm going to be doing a SGA Spoiler post sometime soon because there have been a lot of lovely new and interesting spoilers of late. I'm not sure when I'll be doing that post though, I have recently realized that it's a bad thing to give myself deadlines [by saying in 24 hours or after the weekend, etc.] when it comes to posting stuff on my LJ. +shakes head+

If anyone is online around the time this actually posts and wonders why I'm not on my IMers, it's because as much as I love talking to y'all, it's distracting as hell when I'm betaing. So I figure since [info]shetiger would like me to e-mail her with my thoughts ASAP that maybe I should do just that. +grins+

I was thinking of making some icons of Abby From NCIS but pictures are scarce. I made a request to [info]capitrequests, so I guess we'll see. While looking for pictures, I found out some interesting things about Pauley Perrette, the actress who plays Abby. One is that she's married to Coyote Shivers, who played Berko in Empire Records [Sugarhigh, baby!]. Another is the fact that she has a Master's in Criminology and is obsessed with Forensic Science, so I guess that makes her character a doubly cool job. +lol+

I must be making up for not posting something yesterday, which broke my eight day streak. I guess I'm getting used to actively posting on my LJ, you think? +lol+

So, I just checked my gmail account because I figured there were a lot of those "LJ comment you just posted" notifications since I have that turned on. I generally check my e-mail every day or so to go ahead and label and archive those e-mails, but other then that I don't get much e-mail, unless of course, I've e-mailed someone and they e-mailed me back.

So, anyways, I check e-mail and I find an e-mail from Addiction Fan Awards. I click on it and it turns out that The Crownless Again Shall Be King has been nominated! +squee+ OMGods!

I'm in a state of shock, man. I'm really proud of this fic and all but it's only my third [out of a total of four], you know? So I was completely expecting to sit out this year for the awards and just nominate the ones I like. +shrugs+

Rob Thomas can move his hips.

Which is weird to me because Matchbox Twenty wasn't about dance songs, so we never saw that, really.

But, alas, Lonely No More is a dance song, and a decent one at that. The video is absolutely stunningly cool. +nods head+ Cool computer animation...or, at least, I'm pretty sure it's animation. The video could be done [mostly] the other way, but I have a feeling that a green screen would be a lot easier.

But yeah, the Rob Thomas moving his hips thing...I haven't seen that since the last time I watch a QaF Babylon scene.

And that, in turn, is spawning a plotbunny, unfortunately.

A Rodney-can-dance plotbunny.

The [biggest] problem is I don't really know if it could be pulled off. I'm firmly in the Rodney can do pretty much anything he puts his mind to camp, but why would he want to learn how to dance decently? He's pretty much said that he doesn't see himself as artistic, that he doesn't have a 'creative soul' [although we are learning differently, what with the solutions he pulls out of his ass frequently]. The only way he'd do it is if someone were there to try and get him to, I think.

I have two separate ideas:

1. Our boy Rodney did live in Las Vegas for a number of years at Area 51....it could be possible someone took the time to drag him off to a rave or two. Of course, that would involve an original character as the enabler. Or it could be a complete AU, possibly with the Stargate Program not existing at all, and have John working at Area 51 as well. Hmmm......

2. The second one would be a complete AU, regardless, because it would be an everyone-in-college one. With John having a Chris Knight [Val Kilmer, Real Genius] thing going on. I'd hope that [info]kageygirl would help, because if she would then I'd be able to drop everyone in Boston; have the geeks at MIT and everyone else at Harvard. John being at MIT as well and then I'd have to figure where to stick Aiden & Teyla and with what majors/minors.

Anyways...fellow SGA fans, even if you've never posted a comment to my LJ [which, considering not much happens here, is understandable] please do so here, because I really would like the opinions of others on this. ^_^

On an unrelated note, the LJ Style Contest is over! I voted for 3 Column Style & Flexible Squares and they both won! +grins+ I can't wait until they are official styles, because then I might just have to redo my journal. So cool.

Wheeeee, I'm posting about LOST!

I meant to do a Wednesday night / Thursday morning post like the rest of those that watch LOST did, but alas, things don't always happen the way you want them to. For one, I was concentrating on something completely unrelated after I watched LOST [and considering the fact that I've decided that this is a LOST-only post, I shall not talk about that really-cool-SciFi-show]. That and I can be lazy when it comes to this LJ, if you haven't noticed. It's lurker-itis, I swear....I'm just so used to lurking that it's hard to break the habit. But I am trying, really. Look at March, almost half of the dates have an entry. That's a miracle, man.

So anyway, yes...LOST. First before I get to talking about Do No Harm, I'm going to say that I think I know what I need to do to get over my icon-block when it comes to LOST, because I haven't been able to come up with any at all. I need to immerse myself into LOST-related fandom stuff. So this weekend about 75% of the time I plan on being around Lost Forum and a couple of LOST-related LJs, namely Castaways and Lost TV. I'll probably get my ass to Lost Media as well, because duh, need to get pictures somewhere.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some LOST icons done then, because at the moment I'm a little miffed that it's just not coming to me.

Other then that, yes I do have icons that I still need to get done for that really-cool-SciFi-show [a few promised to friends and a few actor-related ones as well]. That and I am a MODERATOR to the JFnet Board [Joe Flanigan, one of the main actors to really-cool-SciFi-show] so I have those duties as well...but the rest of the weekend? Hopefully to LOST.

+crosses fingers+

I didn't even have to cheat for it...*g*

Which Stargate Atlantis guy is yours? (more Atlantis guys!) by sg_crazy

Your Atlantis guy is...Rodney McKay
Because...You find his intelligence extremely sexy
Quiz created with MemeGen!

You find his intelligence extremely sexy

Why, yes. Yes, I do....among other things. *beg*

But that is not all...[info]daughtershade earlier posted a bunch of South Park SGA Icons [as well as DH in other roles icons, including Nothing, which I snagged]. She also gave the link to the South Park Studio that she used, so I decided to have some fun with it...So really, this is all her fault. *g*

I tried my best to make it similar to the picture [why yes, I am being vague], but of course, it is South Park-ize. I could possibly have the correct font [or, at least, one closer then what I used] but considering the fact that I have over 1400 fonts, I'm not going to go through all of them. *grins sheepishly* Oh, and, officially? The shirt is a brighter blue then in the pictures I found. All the other colours [minus the hair] I took from the pictures themselves.

So...are you a fan of SG-1 and/or Atlantis [especially Rodney]? Then you'll want to look...really. ^_~

You'll like it, I promise. *g* )

NOTE: It's probably obvious to most, but I want to state that I used both PS7 and PSP9 to get this picture [and the following icons] the way that I did.

Speaking of icons, I should have some up either today or tomorrow...and by some, I mean 30+. I have seven SGA icons and four DH icons done...I'm also planning on doing at least [hopefully] a half-dozen more SGA icons and [again, hopefully] a half-dozen LOST icons. Then there is BSG, which I'm making icons for, and some loose ends here and there. So yes, be expecting some more from me. Oh yeah, the icon on this post [Right ON] is done by yours truly. *g*

So one more thing and then I'm going to get breakfast. [info]rivier might find this interesting [that is, if she hasn't thought about it herself] but umm, I was going through my Atlantis pictures and well, this should probably be under a lj-cut, because it's more [g-rated] pictures. *nods head*

And Away We Go )

Okay, that is all...I am done. *smiles*

So yeah, it looks like I'm only going to make it to one more post tonight, but I figure at least I'm doing that much, right? I so need to go to bed, because I'm about to crash, majorly. I did add all of the LJs & Comms I wanted to add at the moment, so that's a plus. I didn't get to the icons though, so that's something to work on for tomorrow. Atlantis and LOST Icon day...and maybe a David Hewlett Icon and a NCIS Abby one to mix things up.

For those that don't watch Stargate Atlantis, you will probably be confused by the rest of this post. Just forewarning y'all.

Okay, so now we are going to get to what I actually wanted to talk about in this entry, and in an indirect way it has to do with [info]astolat fanfic Transcendental. I haven't personally read it all the way through yet but I am the type of person who tries to go back to finish reading certain fics. For the most part I loved Proof by Contradiction and I know that Shalott has a writing style I like. From the way others have been talking about this fic, I'll probably see it as a good piece of fiction but not My!Rodney or My!John. That's okay though, because different perspectives are good. That's not what this post is about though, in fact when I said that it is indirect I really mean it.

It seems that in some of the discussions that I've lurked about in, a lot of the people who say that Shalott's characterization of Rodney is spot on cite the fact that Rodney sees an hour long speech on Leadership as Gold as proof. My Response? WTF?

Now I can be completely off my rocker here but what I saw in LfP was the fact that Rodney never actually got to the speech on Leadership. Or at the very least, never completed it because he kept on going off tangent. *pulling up LfP Transcript*

First time we see Tape!Rodney he freaks himself out on the thought of facing the most horrific death imaginable.

Second time at the end he's 'starting' with the Leadership card.

Third time is Mono and Samantha Carter and then again trying to start the Leadership speech.

Fourth is dogs and cats and then he says he's digressing and again goes for the Leadership at the end.

Fifth and Final time is Niagara Falls, movies he missed, and his sister. Then he goes for Leadership once again and then the tape runs out.

So my guess? He probably never got past say two or three sentences on the whole Leadership speech. Yes I know we didn't see the whole hour but the fact that he decides to try and go back to it after he says a message to Jeannie implies that he never got to it in the first place.

And really, isn't it kind of weird that for something he sees as Gold he doesn't mind putting it last in case the gate cuts off early? Not to mention that he tells Ford "if you cut everything else, just, um, keep this part, OK?" and then records a message to his sister.

So yeah, where is anyone getting an hour long speech on Leadership as Gold? Just curious...and perplexed.

That is it, I really need to go to bed. G'night!

Being the LOST fan that I am, I've decided to write [type?] down some thoughts on what could happen in tonight's episode All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues...behind a lj-cut of course. ^_^
